Check out what’s happening! This season the evolution of Sun Peaks Resort continues. The Canadian ski resort is now in the second phase of a four phase master plan that will ultimately encompass five mountains and a second village. For this season, over four million dollars has been invested on and off the mountain. We are excited to start turning a brand new quad chair on Tod Mountain, the opening of the animated Kids Ranch learning centre at the top of the Platter Lift, the opening of the Umbrella Café at Mt. Morrisey, and the addition of a Piston ‘Terrain Park’ Bully groomer to our fleet of snow cats. Here are some other exciting things we're working on this season:

Sun Peaks Resort is B.C.’s fastest growing year round resort. Every winter we hire over 450 people for our winter team. This winter season we are changing the format for the daily snow reports to something we like to call the 311. The 311 - Three Mountains, One Village, One Report - is a customized e-newsletter that allows you to receive the information that you want in either a text format or HTML format. Subscribers can receive information on Daily Snow Reports, Snow Dumps, Resort News and Vacation Deals, Golf, Bike Park, or Media Releases. Name the New Chairlift and Win a Season Pass

Construction crews arrived on site during the third week of June to begin construction of our fifth quad chairlift. To date this project is running according to schedule, and plans to have the lift operational for the first week of November are extremely promising.

With the construction phase of this project under control other important aspects of this project must be addressed. It’s time to name the lift! The marketing department has been racking their brains trying to come up with a name, but nothing has been sticking. This is why we need you. Get your creativity flowing and come up with a name for our brand new quad chair.

To help you out here is a little information on our new chairlift. The new quad chairlift is based at the bottom of the Cariboo, and will allow quicker return to the Crystal Chair accessing popular runs like Chute, Spillway, Green Door, and the Headwalls. This new quad chair will also service the Nancy
Greene International Race Centre.

Now that you know a little start brainstorming lift names and submit your entry to webmaster@sunpeaksresort.com. In the title bar of the email please type Choose My Lift Name. In the body of the email include your full name, address, contact information, and most importantly your name for the lift.

You can enter as many times as you’d like. The winner will be announced on September 18th, and will receive a free season pass for the 2006/2007 winter season. If you’ve already got your pass we’ll reimburse you for the full amount.
